The Creative First Production of

Following their award winning production of Someone who'll Watch Over Me in 2004, Creative First Theatre will present Willis Hall's classic Second World War drama The Long and the Short and the Tall.

Deep in the Malayan jungle a platoon of inexperienced British soldiers on a routine patrol find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and hopelessly outnumbered. Their situation is complicated further when they capture a young Japanese soldier. As the play builds to its dramatic climax, the raw recruits find themselves confronted by harrowing, life-changing decisions.

This gripping account of the terrors and choices of war catapulted Peter O'Toole to stardom when it premiered in 1959 at the Royal Court. Since then, Willis Hall's masterpiece has assumed a maturity and resonance that confronts today's issues with razor sharp precision and wit.

Under the patronage of acclaimed actress Brenda Blethyn, Creative First's theatre debut Production of Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness was a resounding sell-out success at the Edinburgh Festival 2004, Creative First's actors have since been working on a number of film, television and theatre projects and it is only now that they are able to assemble again to present The Long and the Short and the Tall at London's Pleasance Theatre.

Opening at the Pleaseance Theatre Islington on the 19th of September 2006and running until the 7th of October 2006
